Ok so this can be a very taboo subject and area but I hope this helps some of you out there. Just before I was monetised on my, I was so interested in how much YouTubers would make with low sub counts etc. Well, now it is my turn to share those same details, which I think helps meet people’s expectations and also provides a level of transparency with my audience. Background
I started my journey on YouTube in 2020 (during the pandemic ) like a lot of people at that time we had lots of time and nothing to do. I actually started on and spent a few months learning how to stream etc. Then I tried my first youtube video on how to speed up Xbox downloads. This video got 8k views and I was absolutely blown away! Doesn’t sound much but when you only get 2 viewers on twitch then it suddenly seems positive!
You need 4000 hours of watch time within the last 365 days and 1k subscribers to apply for the Youtube partner program and this is quite hard to achieve. However, I managed this in July of 2021 and was accepted after an initial review and on the 26th of July the first ads were shown on my channel! I made a whopping $6.59 😃 ( I was so happy about this, thinking I would make pennies).
First Year Earnings
So let’s dive into the results of my first 12 months in the YouTube partner program! I will dive into the specifics of each revenue source and break the earnings down with screenshots. Recently YouTube changed the partner program to allow the monetisation of shorts, this change happened on the 1st of February 2023 and because of this, there will be some revenue sources with no earnings as this was in beta at the time I was monetised.
From the 26th of July 2021 to the 26th of July 2022 ( a full year ) I made a total of $4,180.06.
